Exploring cancer treatment and exercise supports in rural WA

Researchers at the Nutrition & Health Innovation Research Institute are exploring how people access exercise support during cancer treatment, and the barriers that can make it difficult. The project will explore these issues
for rural areas of WA, compared to Perth Metro. This project is using Photovoice, a creative approach where participants take photos and share personal stories to show what helped or got in the way of accessing exercise support. The findings will be used to improve services and inform a future grant proposal to benefit people across Western Australia.

Experience required

  • Lived experience of receiving cancer treatment while living in Rural WA within the last 5 years
  • Comfortable taking part in group discussions
