Standard Mental Health First Aid

The Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches participants how to provide initial support to another adult who maybe experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

Course participants learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in adults, how to recognise and respond to an emerging or worsening mental health problem and the treatments and supports available.


Sessions

Blended Online and Face-to-Face – Open for all

Self Paced eLearning (5-7 hours), followed by 4.5 hour face to face workshop

Bunbury – ECU SW Building 1 – UDRH SW Office

11th September 12pm – 4:30pm

 

Refresher Course

Refresher courses allow people who have previously completed a 12 or 14 hour Mental Health First Aid course or any of the Blended MHFA courses (excluding MHFA Yarns) in the last three years to refresh their knowledge and skills. For people who are Accredited MHFAiders, Refresher Courses offer an opportunity to extend their accreditation for a further three years.
