I'm trying to access Placements Plus- can you help me?

You can log into Placements Plus using your University email. If you’re having trouble- please try to reset your password.

Education and Training

How do I know when UDRH SW programs are offered?

If your placement is longer than three weeks, we encourage you to attend the Cultural Orientation and Harvest Sessions on Wednesday afternoon every fortnight.

We try to keep your supervisor informed of these events and understand you may not be able attend all sessions.

What happens if I can’t attend the required workshops and tutorials as I’m rostered on a shift?

We understand that it’s not possible to attend all tutorials and orientations. We ask that you do what you can to attend, as they are invaluable opportunities. Please ask your supervisor to inform us if you can’t attend.

Does the Cultural Orientation count towards my Placement hours?

Please check with your University, as this may be dependent on your degree.

Eligibility and Registration

I am an ECU student who attends ECU Bunbury and lives in the South West. My placement is located more than 100kms (return) from home. Am I eligible for the program?

Yes, you are able to register for the UDRH SW program. Students who live in the South West and are travelling 50kms’s one-way or more are eligible for a Clinical Support Payment to minimise out-of-pocket expenses. You are not eligible for accommodation support; however, a daily bursary is offered and you may choose to use this to subsidise accommodation closer to your placement.

I’m an International Student, can I register for the UDRH SW Program?

Absolutely! While you aren’t eligible for accommodation or placement support, we encourage you to attend the South West Orientation and Cultural Orientation sessions with our lecturers.

I’ve already commenced my clinical placement, can still register for UDRH SW support?

We strongly encourage you to register through your University at the time of placement planning. Delays in student registration are at the student’s risk as UDRH SW is in great demand and does have a capacity limit.

Accommodation

For ECU Campus Living Village, is this free accommodation or is payment required?

It is free! It is located on the ECU campus right next to Bunbury Hospitals! For all ECU Campus Living Village questions, please contact the village directly here, and tell them you are with the UDRH SW program.

Is it possible to get put in a female only apartment? Are we allowed visitors at the ECU campus? What is the size of the bed to know what size sheets/bedding to bring.

When you register your placement be sure to inform us of any special requirements. For all ECU Campus Living Village questions, please contact the village directly here, and tell them you are with the UDRH SW program.

What are the key collection/admin open hours for ECU Campus Living Village?

For all ECU Campus Living Village questions, please contact the village directly here, and tell them you are with the UDRH SW program.

My friend and I would like to share accommodation together, will the reimbursement just be split between the 2 of us?

What a great idea! You’ll be able to let us know your plans on Placements Plus. Please make sure both names are on the invoice and inform UDRH SW of the split claim when submitting your claim form to be processed.

Do I pay for my own accommodation?

Please refer to the Financial Support and Accommodation page.

I found my own accommodation and paid in full myself. Will UDRH SW still pay for the accommodation in this case or does that forfeit the reimbursement?

Your University Placement Coordinator must register your placement before it starts for you to be eligible for the UDRH SW program.
You’ll also need to complete your application on Placement Plus to receive further information before your placement begins.
Finally, submit your accommodation invoice for approval.

For accomodation support, do we have to book through certain places? Or can I claim for any accommodation in the South West?

Students can stay in accommodation of their choice that is most suitable for their placement and circumstances. The accommodation must be commercially available to be eligible and able to provide an invoice (students have used Booking, com, Airbnb, etc).

Please refer to the Financial Support and Accommodation page.

I don't have access to a car, what other transport is available?

Regional towns in the South West have less accessible public transport than Perth. Please let us know in Placement Plus if you don’t have access to a car and we can assist you with more information to support your stay.

Can I bring my children/pets/family/caravan with me to placement?

We ask students to make notes of their placement and accommodation needs in Placements Plus so we can best guide you to book appropriate accommodation.

For all ECU Campus Living Village questions, please contact the village directly here, and tell them you are with the UDRH SW program.
