Health Professionals

We provide a range of support initiatives to local clinicians to assist in the delivery of student placements - ensuring the experience for both clinicians and students is positive and powerful.

Clinician Support

Includes supervision training and resources, strong peer support for students on placements, new supervision opportunities, professional networking and research opportunities and supporting and connecting research initiatives.

Recruitment and retention of rurally-based staff

Delivering supportive and enriched experiences during clinical placement to enhance the likelihood of students choosing to work in the South West after graduation.

Taking on students

Throughout the clinical education process, you are both a teacher and student. Supervising students can enhance your own learning, reduce professional isolation for those in sole positions or remote areas, and enhance your skills in the areas of teaching, reflective practice and collaborative teamwork.

A successful student placement can benefit your site by providing opportunities for future staff recruitment. There are also obvious benefits for your clients, their families and your local community, in terms of the potential increase in the type and frequency of your service delivery.

We offer free courses to unlock your skills in planning, clinical teaching, assessment, and communication to support students and junior colleagues in the workplace.

UDRH SW Discipline Advisors are here to support your journey and are located throughout the South West. We can also connect you to university placement coordinators. Please contact us for further information at udrhsw@ecu.edu.au
