On Saturday 12th July 2025, staff from the University Department of Rural Health South West (UDRH SW) proudly joined the community at the South West NAIDOC Ball and Awards, held at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre (BREC).
This special evening is a highlight of NAIDOC Week, providing an opportunity for the people and businesses of Bunbury and the wider South West to come together to honour the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Representing UDRH SW on the night were Ari Aldus (Clinical Lecturer) and Abigail Lewis (Senior Clinical Lecturer), who were honoured to present the prestigious Educator of the Year award to Ijah Coyle.
The annual South West NAIDOC Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make to their communities, recognising excellence at both an individual and community level.
UDRH SW is proud to support this important event, celebrating the remarkable efforts of those who work to strengthen and uplift First Nations communities, not just during NAIDOC Week, but throughout the year.
