Climate Justice and Disaster Resilience Workshops 2026

Every person, organisation and sector can be impacted by extreme weather events and climate disasters; these impacts disrupt services, destroy lives, and worsen inequalities.

  • Is your community service organisation considering these impacts?
  • Do you want to learn how to ensure your policies and programs are prepared?
  • Is your community service organisation reviewing any programs, services and policies?

Then now is the best time to ensure they are prepared for increasingly extreme weather events and climate disasters. Planning today saves lives, protects staff and minimises disruption to services. Community services and the people they support are on the front lines of social injustices, and climate impacts are exacerbating those injustices. From heat stress and storm- and flood-damaged houses and community centres, financial hardship, to supply chain disruptions affecting access to medication, and increasing rates of anxiety and domestic violence.

These workshops are for staff, volunteers and managers working in community, health and social services.

Together, we’ll explore how climate change and disasters are impacting the people we support, and how we can strengthen community-led resilience and preparedness.

Through practical activities and shared learning, we’ll:

  • Map the social, health and justice impacts of climate change and disasters
  • Identify risks and strengths in your organisation and community
  • Develop action plans to prepare and respond, now and into the future
