Workshop – Youth Mental Health and Climate Change

Young people, researchers, community organisations and leaders are completing a project on climate change and the wellbeing of children and young people. The people involved in this project include Aboriginal Elders, community members, and young people involved in climate justice advocacy along with people from Edith Cowan University, the Australian National University, the Kids Research Institute Australia, Goomburrup Aboriginal Corporation, the Youth Affairs Council of WA, the WA Association for Mental Health, Ngarlark Katitjin, and the Climate Justice Union WA. The research is funded by Healthway.

You and other practitioners who work with young people are invited to participate in an online workshop to discuss how climate change affects young peoples’ wellbeing, and identify strategies and resources to support young people with these impacts.

Wednesday 14th October 2026 from 2 – 4 pm.

The workshop will include discussions about climate change and young people’s wellbeing; identify effective ways to support young people’s wellbeing in a changing climate; and brainstorm the types of resources that would be most useful to help us support young people. Honoraria will be provided to participants who do not participate in a paid capacity. Please see Participant Information Letter.
