Students with an interest in rural health are encouraged to apply for the NRHA and HESTA 18th National Rural Health Conference Student Stipends.
Six stipends of up to $2,000 are available for nursing, medicine, midwifery, allied health and Aboriginal health students studying in rural Australia to attend the 18th National Rural Health Conference in Adelaide/Tarntanya from 14–16 September 2026.
The stipend provides a contribution towards conference registration, travel and accommodation, offering an opportunity for emerging rural health professionals to connect with national leaders, gain valuable insights and contribute to the future of rural healthcare.
Applications close: Midnight, 9 August 2026.
Eligible applicants must:
• Be currently studying nursing, midwifery, medicine, an allied health discipline or Aboriginal health.
• Be studying at an institution or through a training pathway located in rural Australia.
• Be available to attend the conference in Adelaide from 14–16 September 2026.
• Be willing to confirm registration, travel and leave arrangements within two weeks of notification.
• Agree to the application and promotion consent requirements.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students are strongly encouraged to apply, with a minimum of two stipends reserved for Indigenous applicants.
