The South Regional Health Research Forum was held at ECU South West on 6th June 2025, and was attended by a wide range of health practitioners, health researchers and interested members of the public. The forum emphasized the need for collaborative, community-driven approaches to address a range of regional health challenges.

Key initiatives discussed included the role of the South Regional Health Research Collaborative, the Busselton Health Study’s contributions to chronic disease and ageing research, and the promotion of Aboriginal Data Sovereignty through community-led governance. Other themes included the importance of culturally secure research, interdisciplinary partnerships, empowering early-career researchers and embedding research within local communities.
