Students have officially begun their first cycle of placements at the newly launched BASIS Clinic, located in the Shire of Manjimup.
This initiative, part of the University Department of Rural Health South West (UDRH SW), is designed to enhance rural health outcomes while providing hands on, interdisciplinary experience for students studying Occupational Therapy and Exercise Physiology.
On Wednesday 16th April, students Amelia and Sakura kicked off the clinic’s community outreach with their very first home visit, marking an exciting milestone in the program’s rollout.
The BASIS Clinic offers a unique model of care dedicated to improving the lives of older adults in the Shire of Manjimup. Through community-based support, the clinic enhances healthcare access and empowers individuals to maintain their independence, health, and well-being.
